Why EarCandy?
Hearing loss isn't just about hearing.
It's about missing parts of conversations, feeling left out in crowded rooms, wondering if you heard someone correctly, and navigating a world that wasn't designed with accessibility in mind.
I know because I've lived it.
I was diagnosed with profound bilateral sensorineural hearing loss at just 14 months old. I've worn hearing aids for more than 37 years, and recently began a new chapter with a cochlear implant. I've spent my entire life navigating hearing appointments, researching technology, comparing devices, searching for trustworthy information, and trying to find others who understood what I was experiencing.
Throughout that journey, I kept asking the same question:
Why isn't there one place for all of this?
That's why I created EarCandy.
